Speaking during a plenary session in the parliament, the minister said that it is not possible to raise the number of quota refugees since the situation of asylum seekers arriving in the country is still not under control despite the fact that the number of asylum seekers arriving has declined.
Risikko also termed the situation in Turkey and Africa as uncertain.
The current refugee quota as decided by the parliament for the current year is 750 persons.
