Prime Minister Juha Sipilä on Sunday said that Finland has not made any change to its arms ex-port policy.

Talking to the national broadcaster Yle in the Prime Minister´s Interview hour the Prime Minister made the remarks replying to a query regarding a news report.

Finnish language daily Helsingin Sanomat on Sunday reported that Finland has changed its arms trade policies.

According to the report, the Finnish policy has changed since the government has approved arm trade to Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as well as the warring countries in Yemen.

Sipilä said that the government goes through each case separately and complies with the interna-tional agreements.

The Premier also spoke about the departure of the Economic Affairs minister Olli Rehn from the cabinet.

Sipilä said that the departure of Rehn will not cause a huge ministerial recycling, adding that the name of the new minister is only known to him.

He said that the Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) party council and parliamentary group will choose a new minister on Thursday.

"There will an engineer-like direct solution.  A new person will be appointed to the vacant posi-tion," Sipilä said.

Rehn quits the cabinet to join the board of Bank of Finland at the turn of the year.
