The Supreme Court has determined that Anneli Auer's sexual criminal conviction will remain in force.

The Court of Appeal on Wednesday concluded to reject Auer's application for dissolution of her conviction. The decision was unanimous, said spokesperson Tiina-Liisa Autio.

The Turku Court of Appeal in the summer of 2013 sentenced Auer to seven years and six months in prison for, among other things, aggravated sexual offenses against children. Auer has already stood trial in the case.

In her application for dissolution, Auer relied on, among other things, a new medical opinion, and two new expert opinions. The latter concerned the credibility of the assessments of the reports of the victims.

The Supreme Court considers that Auer did not present any new facts or evidence which would have affected her trial or her judgment.
