Member of Parliament Ilkka Kanerva will travel to the United States as part of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) US election observers’ team.
Kanerva will participate in the activities of OECD in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland.
The United States will elect a new president, vice president, 34 senators and 435 representatives of Congress. Senators serve terms of six years.
Nearly 400 people will be involved in OECD activities during the election day.
The work of election observers is to monitor the opening of polling stations, voting, counting of voting as well as publication of results.
