Esko Helle, a former member of parliament, has passed away at the age of 75, according to reports by Hämeen Sanomat.
He was born on May 28, 1938 and served as a lawmaker for both Vasemmistoliitto Party and its predecessor the Suomen Kansan Demokraattinen Liitto.
From 1988–97, he led the Left Alliance parliamentary group and prior to that he served as the chairman of the SKDL party.
