A Finnish hiker died at Sør-Varanger, in the northern Norway county of Finnmark, said Norwegian newspapers Norway Today and Aftenposten.
The death of the hiker occurred on Friday.
According to Norway Today, the man became separated from his hiking group, who reported of disappearance to police before noon.
A rescue helicopter found the man in a rural area in the afternoon.
According to Aftenposten, the group was fishing in the area.
The Foreign Ministry's communications chief Vesa Häkkinen confirmed the death and said that all parties have been informed of the incident.
