The European Union’s statistical on Tuesday corrected the unemployment figures in the month of May and said the unemployment rate in May was 12.2 per cent, news agency STT reported.

Earlier on Monday the Eurostat had said that the May unemployment rate would have been 12.1 per cent.

In addition, in April unemployment rate was 12.1 percent and is now exactly 12 per cent. The Eurostat also fixed the French unemployment figures. It rose by

one percentage point to 10.9 percent.

The Eurostat said on Monday that the unemployment rate remained unchanged in France. Unemployment in the euro area has increased since spring of 2011.

Spain maintains the highest unemployment rate, where unemployment is nearly 27 per cent of the labor.
