A total of 15,780 new motor vehicles, including 10,115 automobiles were registered in the country during the last month of June, according to Statistics Finland.
The Statistics Finland in a report released on Thursday said that the registration of new vehicles increased by 1.9 per cent in June this year compared to the corresponding month of the previous year
The report based on the information from the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency also said that the number of new passenger cars registered during June was 8,809, which was 14.1 per cent higher compared to corresponding period of 2012.

The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 35.1 per cent. The increase of new registered cars was due to change in automobile taxes from April 2012. The number of passenger cars first registered in June has been on average approximately 12,000 during the 2000s.
In the January to June period of 2013, a total of 94,989 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, there was a decrease of 16.5 per cent. The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to June period was 56,548 which is 15.5 per cent down from the year before. The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to June period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Ford.
