The wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was 0.1 per cent greater in the past February to April period than in the corresponding period one year back, according to Statistics Finland.
The total pay amount of the whole economy grew by 1.1 per cent year-on-year in April alone.
In the February to April period last year, the wages and salaries sum grew by 0.8 per cent, the data say.
The wages and salaries sum grew in all main industries with the exception of manufacturing, where the wages and salaries sum contracted by 2.7 per cent from previous year.
The growth in the wages and salaries sum was fastest in the private health and social work (3.1%) and trade (1.6 %).
The amount of wages and salaries refers to the sum total of the gross wages and salaries paid to employees without incentive stock options.
