The S-Group said the double charge was due to a technical disorder with the payment system.
The disorder which led to overcharge relates to Nordea bank as well as OP Pohjola, said S-Group.
The incorrect charges involved hundreds of thousands of card transactions and the S-Group confirmed that corrective measures had been initiated immediately.
The banks announced that correction of charges will appear on customers’ accounts on Monday.
