Mobile network interconnection fees will be reduced in December by a third, said the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA).
The Agency has, for the first time, set maximum interconnection charges paid by telecom companies for calls placed on competitors' networks.
Interconnection between telecom operators is a prerequisite for customer communications on two different networks.
The decision is intended to tighten regulations on mobile operators' interconnection charges. The European Commission would require even tighter regulation, but domestic legislation, according to the Authority, has made this impossible.
