The Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue Social (Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) is considering tabling an interpellation in parliament, if the government does not reconsider the planned cuts in education, SDP parliamentary group vice chair Antti Lindtman told the news agency STT.

The cuts will considerably lower the education level in the country if implemented, Lindtman said.

In a statement, SDP said the government programme-related cuts in education will be extremely expensive for the country and the Finns in the long term.

As written in the current government programme, the government plans to stop the state grants which cover reduced class sizes.
