Domestic sales contracted by 2.6 per cent and export turnover by 7.2 per cent from one year ago.
The turnover went down from the corresponding period of the previous year in nearly all manufacturing sub-industries.
The drop was fastest in the electrical and electronics industry, by 17.8 per cent, and in the chemical industry, by 14.2 per cent, the data show.
The turnover fell the least in the food industry, by 3.5 per cent. Only the forest industry generated slightly more turnover—2.1 per cent—than in the year before.
The turnover in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities remained almost unchanged, the fall being 0.1 per cent from one year before.
The turnover contracted most strongly in the industry of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 4.1 per cent, and in mining and quarrying, by 5.0 per cent for the corresponding period last year.
