Both Danske Bank and Handelsbanken anticipate this year’s gross domestic product to remain largely the same as last year’s.
Danske predicted GDP growth near zero, while Handelsbanken’s estimate was slightly more generous with a 0.2 per cent growth.
As for next year, the banks’ estimates vary more. Danske predicts a 0.6 per cent growth for Finland, while Handelsbanken forecasts a 1.2 percent economic growth.
The situation for Finland appears dark to both the banks, and the only hope for the Finnish economy is a pan-European economic solution.
According to Danske, investment growth in Europe, the recovery of the European Central Bank, the weak euro and cheap oil will help economic growth.
According to Handelsbanken, Finland’s problems are intensified by the selection of export products, because the country emphasizes intermediate production over market-oriented consumer goods.
