The main opposition Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) has decided to cancel transactions with Nordea bank, said the party secretary, Reijo Paananen via the social media Tweeter.
The decision did not come as a surprise, since SDP chair Antti Rinne wrote last week on the social media site Facebook that the party can no longer be Nordea’s client following the Panama Papers revelations.
Another opposition party, Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance), is also considering switching its bank, said the party chair, Paavo Arhinmäki.
According to the Panama Papers, Nordea International Private Banking in Luxembourg in 2004-2014 set up nearly 400 tax haven companies in Panama and the British Virgin Islands.
Meanwhile, Nordea has announced that the latest disruptions in its online and mobile services have come to an end. The system disorder lasted for about three hours. The company’s website, for instance, could not be accessed during the time of disruption.
Nordea has suffered several glitches in spring.
