Sunday marked the Earth Overshoot Day in the country, said environmental protection organisation WWF.
The Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when the consumption on natural resources exceed the capacity to produce renewable natural resources for the rest of the year.
The Earth Overshoot Day is in August, but Finns consume their share of the earth's natural resources on average four months earlier.
Energy production and greenhouse gas emission from transportation are the major causes of over-consumption in the country.
