Some of the projects have received funding from, among other sources, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Cultural Foundation.
This year, Finns have also participated in many cultural projects with Russians. Antti Koski and Matti Närhi have visited Karelia to promote the culture of small businesses.
“We have had a variety of projects here over the past 10 years. What we’re doing right now has been around for a couple of years now,” Närhi said.
Koski and Närhi also expect the negotiations between the EU and Russia on co-financing of some large-scale projects to end. However, they have not seen that the international situation has caused any tension in any way to the collaborative projects.
“It hasn’t affected [this], because we’re working at the grassroots level. In our work, these big lines really don’t matter. Sure, there may be reflections, but we have not seen any kind of problems,” said Koski.
