The National Police Board on Monday suspended an arms purchase tender invited on June 16, official sources said.
A fresh tender in this regard will be announced in early next year.
Senior inspector Janne Liljavuori said in a statement that the package will be further adjusted, and that this purchase will not be limited as announced earlier.
The National Police Board on June 2 said that it is preparing competitive tendering for weapons, accessories and ammunition, as well as maintenance services.
The competitive tender related to, for example, police-issued machine guns but not to personal service weapons.
