The turnover during the period, however, decreased slightly to 2.5 billion euros.
If it was not for the structural weakening of the paper industry and the sale of a factory in Barcelona, the turnover would have increased, said the company.
According to the Managing Director of the company, Karl-Henrik Sundström, Stora Enso's cash flow was higher than last year due to better profitability and freed assets.
He said that the company has accelerated the pace in changes towards a growth company of renewing materials. One milestone was starting a packaging cardboard machine in Beihai factory, China.
The company estimates that the turnover and operating result for July to September will be in the same or slightly lower level than in April to June.
