Huge Salmon fishes will be produced in the Simo and Tornio rivers this year and the size of the fishes will be bigger than normal, according to Finnish Fisheries Research Institute.
The Institute installed fish measurement equipments-Didson in the two rivers and detected that the season started with large spawning fishes.
The fishes has been larger in size than normal in Simo river and the biggest Salmon found, so far, was about 135 centimetres and weighed about 25 kilograms.
The Institute said that more than 3000 fishes have returned from the sea to Tornio river within a month while hundreds returned to Simo river.
Last year 61,500 Salmon fishes were produced in Tornio river and 3,630 Salmons in Simo river, the Institute sources said, adding that 15,200 fishes were caught from Tornio river and 100 from Simo river.
