A court on Friday sentenced one to life imprisonment for killing a man in an apartment house in Joensuu area last year.
The North Karjala district court awarded the punishment to 29-year-old Pasi Jukka Eemeli Rutanen as the allegations brought against him were proved beyond doubt.
Rutanen was convicted of killing a 49-year-old man in cold blood in October.
The murder took place during a cocktail party.
The judge in the verdict observed that the murder was cruel and brutal, although the motive of the crime was not clear.
The court also observed that the convict, who had previous violence records, had previous disputes with the victim.
