The re-trail of the Ulvila murder began at Satakunta District Court on Tuesday following directives from the supreme court.

Accused Anneli Auer, who was convicted for killing her husband in 2006, had been acquitted by the appeal court last year.

The supreme court, however, upheld the previous judgements of the case and ordered the district courts to hold a fresh trial in this regards.

Based on the new evidence, Turku district court convicted Auer early this year as allegations of sexual abuses against her were proved.

The Ulvila murder took place in December 2006, and in 2009 the wife of the victim was suspected for the murder.

The Satakunta district court in 2010 sentenced Anneli Auer to life term imprisonment as she was convicted for killing her husband.

But an appeal court acquitted her in 2011 overturning the judgement of the lower court.

The Supreme Court later in 2012 rejected both the judgements of the district court and the appeal court, and ordered for a fresh trial of the murder case.
