A man was gunned down and his wife sustained bullet wounds when a neighbour attacked the couple with firearm at their summer cottage at North-Savo area in Lapinlahti on Saturday night. The deceased was 60 years old, said police.
Police said that the murder took place at about 7:00 pm when the couple were locked into an altercation with the neighbour.
At a certain stage of the argument, the man fired gunshots injuring the couple.
The man succumbed to his wound immediately while his wife managed to escape in cooperation with other neighbours who rushed to the spot responding to the call of the woman.
The wounded woman was sent to the hospital and she is now out of danger, said police quoting hospital sources.
Police arrested the alleged killer from the yard of his residence after the incident, said police adding that he was drunk at that time.
