Defence Minister Carl Haglund will make an official visit to Poland on Friday responding to an invitation of his Polish counterpart Tomasz Siemoniak who visited Finland on 3 April 2013, said an official press release on Thursday.

The ministers are going to discuss bilateral defence cooperation, participation in international crisis-management operations, the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy related themes, and perspectives on developing regional defence cooperation in Northern Europe and Central Europe.

In addition, the ministers are going to sign a Poland-Finland Framework Agreement.

During his working visit Minister Haglund is going to visit the Mannerheim memorial, which is a granite rock placed in the churchyard of the Lancer Regiment that Mannerheim led.

The church is located close to the Royal Lazienki Park. A wreath-laying ceremony will be arranged at the memorial.
