Foreign minister Erkki Tuomioja will make a visit to France on Monday.
 
He will then be visiting Algeria on Tuesday and Wednesday, said a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on February 14.
 
In Paris, the Finnish minister will have bilateral talks with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, according to the release.
 
The two ministers are expected to discuss, among others, Ukraine and the Eastern Partnership, the situation in North Africa, the Central African Republic and climate issues.
 
Tuomioja will also meet with Bruno Le Roux, leader of the Socialist Party in the National Assembly of France. In addition, he will take part in the European Social Democrats' seminar on the EU Common Security and Defence Policy.
 
In Algeria, Tuomioja will meet, among others, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra. The two will have discussions on high-level political dialogue relating to topical international and regional issues, said the release.
 
Trade and economic relations between Finland and Algeria are also on the agenda of other meetings. 
 
Finnish exports to Algeria have been increasing strongly in recent years. The value of exports is thought to have exceeded the level of 200 million euros for the first time last year.
