The first migratory birds have made their winter journey back to the country during this month, according to a report by Birdlife Finland.
 
The first citing of the larks was made in Inkoo at the turn of the month.
 
Afterwards, the bird species has been spotted in Oulu, Helsinki and Kaarina.
 
The arrivals of huge flocks of larks are however not expected until May.
 
Grey Gulls have also been spotted in the south coast, the central parts of the country, North Savonia and in North Karelia.
 
Whooper swans, Goosanders and Goldeneyes have also arrived in the hinterland.
 
Barnacle Goose have however successfully wintered in Helsinki while Bean Geese have once again spent the winter in Åland.
