Suomen Keskusta still tops in popularity list

Support for the opposition parties Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) and Persussuomlaiset (Finns Party) has fallen in February, according to a survey by Yle.

The survey found that despite its fall in recent popularity, the Centre Party was still the most popular party in the country with 22.8 percent of voter support.

Its popularity, however, fell by 0.8% from the previous survey.

Finns Party, with voter support of 16.9% in the survey, experienced a decline of 0.9%.

Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party), the biggest component of the six-party alliance government, showed a 0.7% increase in popularity with 19.4 percent of voter support.

Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland), the second biggest ally of the government, saw its voter support standing at 15.5%, similar to January's survey.

The small parties also showed increase in support.

Vihreä liitto (Green League) garnered 9% voter support, while Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) had 7.7%.

Suomen ruotsalainen kansanpuolue Swedish (People's Party of Finland) support increased to 4.2%, while Suomen Kristillisdemokraatit (Christian Democrats of Finland) support fell to 3.4%.

The margin of error is +/- 1.6 percentage points.
