The Prime Minister, Jyrki Katainen is scheduled to participate in the  EU-Africa Summit beginning in Brussels on Wednesday, said an official press release.
 
The two-day meet is the fourth summit between the EU and Africa. 
 
The first was held in 2000 in Cairo, the second in 2007 in Lisbon and the third in 2010 in Tripoli. 
 
The EU member states and representatives from over 50 African countries will be participating. There are three themes: Investing in People, Prosperity and Peace. 
 
Prime Minister Katainen will give a speech during a plenary discussion on prosperity.
 
Before the Summit, he will also take part in a meeting to discuss intensively some issues related to the situation in the Central African Republic.
 
The Summit is hosted by the French President Francois Hollande, President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, the President of Mauritania and Chairman of the African Union Abdel Azizi.
 
During the Summit, Katainen also has plans to have one-on-one talks with Angola's Vice President Manuel Domingos Vicente, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouk and Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama.
