In a joint press conference, the two foreign ministers emphasised the need to resolve the crisis in Ukraine as by the agreements made earlier, despite the two nations holding different views on the progress in the situation.
The two leaders also held a similar view on the events in the Middle East.
Lavrov said bodies such as the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the United Nations should take responsibility for investigating incidents that have taken place in Ukraine so as to come up with an impartial report.
According to Tuomioja, there are no bilateral problems between Finland and Russia.
While in Moscow, Tuomioja will attend the launch of his book as well as a history seminar organised by the embassy of Finland,said a government release.
