The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday detained three people in connection to terrorist activities.
 
The three are suspected of taking part in activities of a foreign armed group.
 
The news was first reported by the Finnish commercial broadcaster MTV. According to MTV, the suspicion is related to activities of the Syrian extremist organisationIsis.
 
The three are Finnish citizens and the case is not related to the money remittance case involving Al-Shabaabhandled on Tuesdayby the Helsinki District Court.
 
The lead investigator in the case, Mika Ihaksinen, said the three were arrested in the capital city region and its surrounding areas. A police search was also conducted.
 
The suspicion is based on intelligence from the Finnish security intelligence service-Supo.
