The numerous crimes alleged to have been committed by Jari Aarnio, the suspended former head of Helsinki Police anti-narcotics unit, were forwarded for consideration of charges on Tuesday.
 
Aarnio is suspected of having committed 28 crimes ranging from aggravated bribery to drug trafficking-related crimes.
 
It is alleged that Aarnio was pertinent to trafficking of drugs from Holland which was distributed in the country.
 
A number of people including six police officers are also linked to the suspicions surrounding Aarnio.
 
According to the lead investigators in the case, the pre-trial record sheet contains 25,000 pages.
 
Aarnio maintains his innocence and has denied all the charges. He has been in custody since November last year. He has been detained for 17 of the alleged crimes.
