About half of Finns seem to believe that NATO membership would clarify Finland’s position, found a survey conducted by the Finnish commercial broadcaster MTV.
According to the MTV news poll, 44 per cent Finns believe NATO membership would clarify Finland’s position while 39 per cent do not harbour the same feeling.
The rest of the respondents did not take a stand on the matter.
The majority of those who believe that NATO membership would clarify Finland’s position are convinced that the clarification would be beneficial for Finland.
The questions in the survey were based on last week’s publication of the foreign ministry future review which observed that NATO membership would clarify the country’s position in many ways.
The survey interviewed more than 1,500 people in the country. The margin of error was +/-3.
