Child allowance will decrease from the beginning of January, 2015.
 
The decision to cut child allowance by up to 8 percent was reached at the spring framework session.
 
The government afterwards proposed the child deduction scheme to compensate low income families.
 
In the future, allowance paid to the first child will be about 95 euros compared to the present allowance of just over 104 euros.
 
The child allowance paid to the second child will be about 105 euros and 135 euros for the third child.
 
The amount paid to the fourth child will be about 154 euros and the amount paid to each subsequent child will about 75 euros.
 
The child allowance cut does not apply to single-parents allowance increase.
