FTimes-STT Report, Feb 7

The Helsinki District Court on Friday sentenced three young men to prison for robbery.

According to the court, the perpetrators beat up a victim, strangled him and took away his mobile phone.

The ages of the convicts during the incidents were in between 15 and 18.

The perpetrators subjected the victim to violence on mutual agreement in October at Kansailstori (Citizens’ Square) in Helsinki.

In addition, another perpetrator under the age of 15 is suspected of stabbing the victim at the thigh.

The victim told the court that one of the convicts lent him a cigarette. According to the court, the young man in question was unsettled by the victim’s gaze, started a confrontation and then called for help from his friends.

One of the underage convicts was handed a two years and five months prison sentence and the second one a two years and four months imprisonment.

The eldest, the 18-year-old convict was handed a two years and two months absolute prison sentence. His sentence was influenced by an earlier robbery sentence.
