IT Company Fujitsu on Wednesday said the disruption experienced by a number of its Finnish website clients was due to technical fault which came from a data centre.
The company said some of the servers' new components proved to be defective leading to network overload.
The fault disrupted several websites including the websites of the Tax Administration, the Ministry of Justice and the City of Espoo.
The Police’s electronic services were also affected by the disruption earlier in the day.
Later in the day, the Tax Administration announced that its services had resumed normal operations after approximately two hours of disruption.
According to the Tax Administration, the fault did not affect tax calculations or security of public information.
The police electronic services also resumed normal operations later in the day.
