Two more police vans currently in use have been found to have roofing defects, reported the Finnish language daily Savon Sanomat.

One of the vans was in use in Turku and the other in Kuopio. Both vans have been taken for repairs.

The National Police Board encourages inspection of all police patrol vans with elevated roofs delivered in 2012.

The need of the inspection came after the roof of a police van from the Lapland Police Department came loose and fell on the Kemi motorway.

In total, 53 vans were to be inspected and, according to the newspaper, the inspections have been completed. The rest of the vans have not been found defective apart from the two.

The inspection results of all the police vans are, however, not available.

According to the newspaper, the roof problem is suspected to have emanated from use of an incorrect adhesive batch.
