FTimes – STT Report, June 19

The United Brotherhood boss who was implicated along with the former Chief of Helsinki Drug unit police, Jari Aarnio, has been released from remand.

The gang leader is suspected of aggravated drug offences and was in detention for a year and a half.

According to the District Court, the pre-trial detention period has been long and the confinement unreasonable.

Besides drug offences, the gang leader is also accused of threatening administration of justice and distortion of evidence.

A travel ban on the gang leader was imposed by the court due to risk of meddling with investigation.

The gang leader must also not contact interrogated witnesses and those intended to be interrogated.

He was also accused in the case surrounding surveillance company Trevoc, but the court dismissed the allegation.
