The midsummer return traffic pile up was continued until 9.00pm on Sunday.
Congestion on the roads was evaded primarily due to the sunny weather on Sunday.
The traffic was congested mainly on National Road 9 between Orivesi and Tampere.
There was also jam along National Road 5 leading from Mikkeli to Heinola as well as along National Road 4 from Heinola to Helsinki.
According to the Finnish Transport Agency, the midsummer return traffic is lively as usual and no serious traffic jam was experienced during the day.
Serious road accidents were also avoided on Sunday.
