FTimes – STT Report, July 20

The figure of the annual traffic suicides has remained nearly the same as in the 2000s, despite the overall number of suicides in the country taking a steady plunge.

According to The Finnish Motor Insurers’ Centre (LVK), 10 per cent of annual deaths resulting from motor vehicle accidents are suicides.

On average 25 incidents of motor vehicle suicidal collisions happen every year.

Traffic suicide like any other is preventable, if the assistance arrives early enough. Often, discussion can help thwart suicidal thoughts.
