464 refugees arrive from Sweden on Sunday

A total of 464 asylum seekers were registered in the country on Saturday, said the Finnish Immigration Service via social media site Tweeter.
 
According to the Lapland Police Department, 380 of the new arrivals were registered at the Tornio refugee centre.
 
A total of 15,664 asylum seekers have arrived in the country since the beginning of the year.
 
Around 300 new asylum seekers arrived in Tornio on Saturday through the western border. 
 
The new arrivals were to be registered on Sunday followed by their transfer to reception centres in different parts of the country.
 
The police expected about 300 new asylum seekers to arrive on Sunday. 
 
It was a calm night in Tornio and the western border.
