A police patrol in Nummela, Vihti on Thursday (Christmas Eve) stopped a car driven by a Santa Claus who did not possess a driving permit.
The car driven by the Santa Claus had also not been inspected for road worthiness, police said.
The Western Uusimaa Police Department said the officers on the patrol removed the number plate from the car and handed the Santa Claus a fine.
Police said the Christmas celebrations passed quite peacefully in the area and that there were less police tasks than a normal day of weekend.
The police tasks on Christmas Day mainly dealt with traffic monitoring and alcohol-related alarms raised in homes.
