An elderly couple was burnt to death in fire which broke out in a two-storey detached house on Thursday at Hämeenkyrö in Pirkanmaa, police said.
The rescue department received the alarm at about 6:00 pm.
When the fire brigade arrived at the scene, the house was still in fire with flames striking the windows, said the chief fire fighter on duty Ari Vakkilainen.
The fire extinguishing work continued until the night.
The approximately 115 square metres house was completely destroyed in the fire, said Vakkilainen.
