Finns trust banking identification and passwords mostly compared to other modes of identifica-tion, found a survey conducted by the Technical Research Centre of Finland-VTT.
The study compared Finnish and Italian consumers’ attitudes towards ten different methods of identification.
Fingerprint identification was the most popular method in Italy when in Finland it was third most popular method.
The other methods of identification included the use of pin-code, mobile certificate, smart card, face detection as well as new methods of image-based identification in which the user touches the images on the screen in a prescribed order of arrangement.
The users were asked about their perception on the security of the methods, convenience and about the lesser-known methods.
