The Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) members of the district boards gave the chair of the party Alexander Stubb less favourable approval rating compared to previous rating, found a recent survey by the Finnish commercial broadcaster MTV.

According to the survey, 60 percent of the respondents believe Stubb has been successful in his role as the chair of the party.

However, the corresponding figure in the last spring survey was 69 percent.

The survey also mapped how well the Kokoomus ministers had performed in their ministerial portfolios.

Interior Minister Petteri Orpo with approval rating of over 90 percent emerged as the top minis-ter.

Stubb whose approval rating as a minister was 71 percent was the worst among Kokoomus’ four ministers in the cabinet.

The respondents praised the way Orpo had dealt with asylum seekers issue.

Stubb approval rate slump was attributed to the social and healthcare reform in which many re-spondents felt that the party compromised too much with the Suoomen Keskusta (Centre Party).

A total of 101 members of the party's district boards were interviewed during the survey.
