The refugee reception center was attacked by three firebombs, which were thrown through the outer door's window on Wednesday night. The attack did not cause a fire and no casualties were reported, according to the Finnish News Agency STT. The reception center currently accommodates a total of 80 asylum seekers. A 25-year-old local man was detained by police on Thursday noon in association with the firebomb attack. Police found that the suspect has also a link with the attempted arson in the same place in September 2015, when the reception center was empty. In September last year, a similar firebomb attack occurred in a refugee reception center in Kouvola, southern Finland. A 50-year-old man was sentenced to one year in prison in November last year for throwing a petrol bomb at the reception center.
