Former Perussuomalaiset party (Finns Party) secretary Ossi Sandvik has been fined for violation of private communications. The Helsinki Appellate Court found that the party secretary had no right to open a letter, which was addressed to a telecommuter working for the party office.
The crime took place in the summer of 2012. The Appellate Court sentenced Sandvik to a 40-day fine, which amounts to almost euro 1900.
Sandvik vacated his position as party secretary in the summer of 2013.
