Finland may consider the limiting of child benefits going abroad, if it becomes possible, said Prime Minister Juha Sipilä.

Britain has proposed the end of cross-border payments as part of the push for reforms in the European Union.

The premier revealed he discussed the matter with Estonian prime minister on Thursday in Brussels.
Child benefits paid to Estonia have aroused criticism in Finland.

Child benefits paid to children living oversees may in the future be tied to the child’s country of residence.

According to Sipilä, this idea makes sense.
