As many as 65 percent of Finns consider the news reliable, which is a far greater percentage than in any of the other 26 countries included in the 2016 Reuters Institute Digital News Report.
Only 40% of Swedes, for example, trust in the news while people in South Korea and Greece were the most skeptical.
Esa Reunanen, a researcher from the University of Tampere, believes that the reason Finns trust in national media is that the news is not divided politically, but tends to spend to the nation as a whole.
Finns' trust in the news, however, fell from last year, when 68 percent of respondents reported trust in the news.
Approximately 2000 Finns were surveyed for the annual Reuters Digital News Report 2016. The survey examined the use of news media, particularly online.
