Helsinki to free seashores of plastic garbage

Helsinki Public Works Department is going to gather information on the amount of plastic garbage at the seashores which is huge at the moment.

The department also plans to send cleaning patrols along the shores.

The plastic scraps found along the Helsinki’s seashores probably came from filling the sea with huge rocks at Länsisatama and contains, among other things, plastic tubing and plastic fibre, according to the department.
