The consumer confidence in the economy has eroded remarkably over this month, with the consumer confidence indicator sliding down from 10.2 in March to 6.4 in April, reports a consumer survey conducted by the Statistics Finland.
According to the survey report released on Monday, 30 per cent of the consumers think the economy will deteriorate further, although 29 per cent believe that the economic situation will improve within the next one year.

A total of 1,442 people residing in Finland had been interviewed between April 2 and 18 under the survey.
The consumers predicted that the prices of consumer goods would go up by 3.2 per cent over the next 12 months. The long-term average of the predicted inflation rate is 2.2 per cent.
